Bezos Academy

LDG Development has partnered with Bezos Academy to open several tuition-free preschools adjacent to our developments in Louisville and in Texas.

Students attending the academy will receive breakfast, lunch, snacks, and an optional boxed dinner and have access to wrap-around services that are focused on improving the educational outcomes of children living in poverty. Construction on the academy is expected to begin this year, the first students are anticipated to be welcomed in 2025.

Norton Healthcare

We have a partnership with Kentucky’s largest healthcare system to provide weekly onsite medical services to all residents regardless of their health insurance status.

These services range from routine primary care services focused on prevention and wellness; to more complex patient care, typically performed at a physician’s office. Residents can also receive assistance enrolling in Medicaid or other federal- or state-sponsored programs — all without leaving their homes!

Arthur Street Hotel

LDG Development purchased Arthur Street Hotel in 2022. We are working to transition people from the streets to permanent housing.

Over 111 people have been moved from homelessness to housing since October 2022.

These funds will be used to support the teaching and research needed to allow students to minor in real estate finance and become more familiar with our industry. As part of this partnership, we also anticipate offering internships for students at UofL’s College of Business who have expressed an interest in gaining real-world experience in this dynamic sector.

Grace James Academy

Graces James Academy is an all-girls middle school known for STEAM (Science, Technology, English, Arts & Mathematics).  Roots 101 Museum displayed 12 students' artwork reflecting inspiration from the Russell neighborhood. LDG Foundation donated art supplies for this project.

Elliott Park

The Olmstead Park Conservancy has put a Master Plan together for Elliott Park which is located at 28th & Magazine Streets in the Russell neighborhood.  Implementation ensures that this vibrant park in the heart of Russell, reaches its full potential as a Park for All.

It is vital to provide a walkable destination with features uniquely suited to the needs of the community. These spaces often form the backdrop for neighborhood gatherings and festivities, serving as walkable destinations for families with children, for those looking for a quick game of basketball, or even a leisurely walk and rest on a bench.

Elliott Park is home to the Louisville Gators pee wee football team and you can find them practicing any Tuesday and Thursday evening under the watchful eye of Coach Kenyon Biggers. Stop by on a Tuesday evening and you will catch Bill Tolbert and his friends tuning their bikes for a long ride through the city. Most days you will see a friendly group of retirees gathered around the south end of the park playing horseshoes and grilling out. During the day, seniors from Elder Serve walk the path for exercise under the shade of the mature oak trees. Children can be found playing on the playground most afternoons. Imagine how many more children and families will be enjoying the park with the new development on Magazine Street. Elliott Park is well-loved and well-used by those who call this corner of Russell home.
